Bailrigg FM
A Chat with Caroline Lucas MP News Team
Bailrigg FM is one of the UK’s oldest student radio stations, and the first to have an FM frequency – broadcasting across campus since 1969! As part of Lancaster University’s media network, Bailrigg FM is dedicated to bringing you #yourstudentsound 24/7, whether that’s artist interviews, newly released music, or throwback bangers.
All of our content is student-produced and OFCOM-regulated, whether it’s a pre-recorded podcast, news and music broadcast in real-time, or a live event. Membership includes access to industry-standard equipment and training, with two professional studios and an office & lounge space for members to plan shows and relax in. With the freedom to host a show about whatever you like, it’s clear to see why Bailrigg FM is one of the biggest student media groups on campus.
Bailrigg FM is also one of the exclusive societies involved with the coverage of Roses, Europe’s largest varsity competition – broadcasting over two hundred sports streams with a team of over two hundred student media volunteers. Roses, while being a chance to show your university pride, is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience producing and broadcasting live events, and many of our members have then gone on to incredible careers in media – such as James May and Andy Serkis. Even if you don’t fancy hosting a show, we have plenty of positions open in news, music, engineering, marketing, and much, much more!
If you fancy getting involved or having a chat, you can find us on Facebook, Twitter and Insta
